菲利普·罗斯的"美国三部曲"包括《美国牧歌》《我嫁给了共产党人》和《人性的污秽》,刻画了美国少数族裔身处族裔文化与异质文化夹缝的艰难处境,展现了这些群体及个体不被接受和认可的惶惑与焦虑乃至自我毁灭,剖析了身份危机及其与美国社会、政治、文化的宿命性纠结,揭露了美国社会的种族歧视及其话语统治者所标榜的自由、平等、民主的虚伪性。
Philip Roth' s American Trilogy, including American Pastoral, I Married a Communist, The Human Stain, describes American minorities' identity crisis and their confusion,anxiety as well as self destruction. It further analyses the identity crisis and its fatalistic entanglement with American society, politics and culture, revealing the racial discrimination of American society and the hypocrisy of freedom,equality,democracy boasted by the discourse dominator.
