摘要

瑶老制是瑶族地区特有的一种传统社会组织,其历史久远,并在瑶族历史发展过程中发挥着重要作用。建国后到改革开放前,瑶老制遭到巨大挫折,几乎消失。但改革开放后,瑶老制重又出现。在建设社会主义和谐社会新的历史时期,对其进行功能构建,合理改进,充分利用,以发挥其在瑶族地区基层社会建设的作用,具有重要意义。
        The system of Yao Lao,for a long history,was a traditional social organization in the area of Yao,and it played an important role in the history of Yao. During the period from the establishment of people republic of China to refom and opening up,the system of Yao Lao was subjected to enormous setback and almostly disappeared. In modern times,the system of Yao Lao come again and becoming beneficial supple- ments of governmental organization. But in order to build a harmonious society in area of Yao,we should take full use of and resonably improve the system of Yaolao.
