To study the effect of continuous and intermittent hypoxic exercise on body composition, blood lipids, glucose, insulin and leptin in obese rats, the obese model rats were randomly divided into 6groups:normoxic sedentary exposure, intermittent normoxic exercise, continuous normoxic exercise, hypoxic sedentary exposure, intermittent hypoxic exercise and continuous hypoxic exercise.Under normoxic and hypoxic conditions, rats were exposed and trained by swimming exercise for 8weeks,5days per week.Diet consumption of rats was measured every day. After training, body weight and stem length of rats were measured.Their blood and visceral fat were collected.Blood lipids, glucose, insulin and leptin were determined.Normoxic exercise increased diet of obese rats, but hypoxic exercise decreased it.Normoxic and hypoxic exercise had weight relief for obese rats.Comparing with normoxic exercise, hypoxic exercise showed more significant effect.Continuous hypoxic exercise was most significant in all groups.Normoxic exercise, hypoxic exercise and hypoxic condition decreased blood TC,TG,LDL-C,glucose and insulin in rats or showed trend, increased HDL-C and leptin or showed trend.Hypoxic exercise improved blood lipids and glucose metabolism, decreased body weight of rats.Continuous normoxic exercise was better than intermittent normoxic exercise.
