Objective: To explore the effect of early warning nursing intervention on preventing falls in elderly cataract patients. Methods: According to the order of admission,a total of 196 elderly cataract patients were divided into observation group and control group,98 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing intervention. The observation group gave early warning nursing intervention on this basis, and statistically affected the risk factors of fall in elderly cataract patients. Satisfaction and the incidence of falls were compared, and the changes in fall prevention knowledge, attitude, behavioral scores, and health survey summary( SF-36) scores were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results: The incidence of falls in the observation group was lower than that in the control group( P < 0. 05); Logistic multivariate analysis showed that the risk factors of falls in the elderly cataract patients were weak awareness of falls prevention, complicated with many chronic diseases, lack of knowledge of medication, poor eyesight and poor knowledge of sudden falls( P < 0. 05). After intervention, the knowledge, attitude, behavior, physiological function, emotional function, social function, mental health score and nursing satisfaction of the group were higher than those of the control group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion: Applying early warning nursing intervention to senile cataract patients can improve their knowledge, attitude and behavior scores, reduce the incidence of falls, and improve the quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
