Among many contemporary American novelists, Philip Ross is undoubtedly the most prominent one. In his later works, he shows great concern for reality. His works this period are all based on social reality and historical events. The tragic fate of the hero in the novels reflect the potential survival crisis of the whole American society. In order to highlight this theme, the author innovates the traditional post-modernist narrative techniques, combines space-time shuttle with narrative concentration, and expresses the concern and worry about human destiny. This period is also an important transition of Philip Ross' s novel creation.
