The project-oriented and task-driven teaching method has been widely used in computer classroom teaching. However, there are some misunderstandings in its implementation. Such as: too much emphasis on knowledge and skills while ignoring the shaping of a sound personality of students, and too much emphasis on student self-learning while ignoring the teachers' teaching. In this paper, according to the physical and mental development characteristics of higher vocational students, combined with many years of computer teaching and practical experience, by drawing on the traditional teaching methods and task-driven teaching methods, using constructivism and Ausubel's "learning and teaching" theory to build a project-oriented and task-driven teaching mode, and the application of this mode in higher vocational computer courses is studied.
