According to international statistical data, the main cause of a large number of ship accidents is ship instability, which leads to ship out of control and accidents. In recent years, ship optimization design based on 3D parametric software has become a hot research topic, and considerable research results have been achieved. In order to improve the stability of the ship and ensure the safety and reliability of navigation, this paper establishes a mathematical model of ship stability, calculates the stability of the ship, and parameterizes the ship with the three-dimensional design software platform CATIA.Finally, the simulation of ship stability design and optimization is completed by the secondary development of CATIA. Experiments show that the ship stability design based on three-dimensional parameterization has good effect and great application potential.
