莫里森小说《慈悲》细读

摘要
《慈悲》是当代美国黑人作家莫里森的名作。作品通过对17世纪北美大陆蓄奴制初期不同族裔人的生活状况的梳理描写,揭示出美国种族主义的直接原因是贪欲。莫里森指出种族和肤色不是决定人们是否受奴役的标志,想要摆脱奴役的命运获得自由和独立,人们需要完成对自我身份的构建和认同。
Mercy was the masterpiece of Morrison,a contemporary black American writer. Through the description of the living conditions of different ethnic groups in the early period of slavery in North America in the 17th century,the work revealed that greed was the direct cause of racism in the United States. Morrison pointed out that race and colour were not the signs of slavery,and people needed to complete the construction and identification of their own identity so as to get rid of slavery and gain freedom and independence.
