Evidence based Complementary and Alternative Medicine。
Objective: To analyze the research trends of acupuncture and moxibustion treating stroke in the past 30 years based on visualization software Citespace. Methods: Literatures from January 1986 to December 2017 about acupuncture treating stroke were retrieved from Web of science. The basic laws of publishing countries (regions), research institutions, authors, keywords, citations, co-cited authors, and citation journals analyzed by analyzing frequency, centrality, and cluster analysis with Citespace software, thus to explore the research results, research cooperation network, research hotspots and research trends. Results: The total number of publications had been gradually increased over time. The three countries with the most research output in this field were China, the United States and South Korea; the most important countries in the cooperative network were the United States, Canada and Sweden; the institutions with the most prolific researches were Kyung Hee University, China Medical University, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The most prolific and cited journal was Evidence Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine. The most cited reference was from Wu P(2010), and the most important reference was from Liu Y(2010). The most productive author in this field was CHEN LD, the important author was LI HQ, Sze FKH was an important cited author, and the most influential author was Ernst E. The research front in this field was randomized controlled trials, rehabilitation, nursing and mechanism research on acupuncture treating stroke. Conclusion: Through the bibliometric analysis of acupuncture treating stroke, the potential laws between countries (regions) and research institutions were found out, which can help to quickly and accurately locate research trends and research hotspots in a visual form.
