个体化视角下公诉人身份建构的多模态设计

基于个体化研究(Martin 2010)和多模态设计原则(Kress 2010; Bezemer&Kress 2016),论文提出了身份建构的社会符号学分析框架,并以起诉书宣读为例,讨论多模态设计如何实现起诉书宣读者作为司法人员的身份。研究表明,从框定、选择维度上看,多模态资源的框定和选择具有机构语境的规定性,呈现了法制群体所宣扬的价值观的主流地位;从前景化维度上看,语言是价值协商的前景化资源,起诉书宣读者运用评价韵律,肯定主流价值观,否定违背主流价值观的行为;从配置维度上看,多模态资源配置的连贯性强化了价值协商,促进起诉书宣读者的身份建构。本研究既有助于数字时代的身份研究,又证明了上述两种理论之间存在互补性。
Based on the research of individuation(Martin 2010) and the principles of multimodal design(Kress 2010; Bezemer & Kress 2016), the paper proposes a social semiotic framework for an analysis of identity construction, and explores how public prosecutors build their identity as judicial officers through multimodal designing by analyzing examples of indictment-presentions. It is found that viewed from the dimensions of framing and selection, multimodal resources are framed and selected prescriptively due to institutional contexts, which highlights the predominant status of values promoted by the legal communities; from the dimension of foregrounding, language is the foregrounding resource of value negotiation, in which evaluative prosody is utilized by indictment-presenters to reinforce mainstream values and denounce the acts violating such values; from the dimension of arrangement, the coherent arrangement of multimodal resources strengthens value negotiation and facilitates the identity construction of indictment - presenters. This study may contribute to identity research in the current digital era, and meanwhile it demonstrates the complementarities of the above two theories.
