Despite a large number of studies have been conducted to explore emotional cross-over in the service management, studies about emotional cross-over between teachers and students in the teaching process are very few. Recent years, more and more researchers are paying increasing attention to the students' emotions. Teachers are the sender of knowledge, skills and emotional information in education. They play an important role in the students' emotion health. This study aimed to test the emotional states of primary and middle school teachers and the students' perception and feeling for teachers' emotional state. We also want to know on the one hand whether teachers' emotional state can transfer to the students, on the other hand whether Students' emotion could be affected by the emotion that teachers show in teaching. Questionnaires and written interviews were conducted. At first, the self-reported data were collected from 285 teachers in XX primary and middle school. They completed the Chinese mood adjective check list which is divided into 4 dimensions:Fidget,Happy and excited,Pain and sad,Angry and hate. Then 108 middle school students and 57 university students completed written interview in the form of a composition. The composition must include the following content:a.the event must occur between youyou're your teacher;b.when happened;c.describe the teacher's emotion expression(such as movements, words);d.your emotions at that time; e.your emotions when you recall today;f.the influences on you. It is worth noting that part of the students are the investigated teachers' students. After the interview, received interview passages were coded, extracted and classified. At last, data collected in Questionnaires and written interviews were put into the computer and analyzed by the software of SPSS 16.0. The results show that teachers are in Fidget,Happy and excited states more often in teaching situations. The male teachers' happy and excited are more than female'. The negative emotion of frontline teachers is higher than non-frontline teachers. Besides, compared with primary and senior middle school teachers, junior middle school teachers have more negative emotion and less positive emotion. There is relative consistency between teachers' emotional state and students' perception. That is to say, if the teacher showed happy emotion, this emotion would be perceived by the students and they would be felt happy. In addition, the stage when teachers appear more negative emotion and the stage when students describe more negative emotional events show relative uniformity. For example, junior middle school teachers have more negative emotion and students describe negative emotional events more often took place in junior middle school. Authors also found that teachers' negative emotion(such as anger and hopeless) is easier to be perceived by the students and then students may produce negative emotion(such as anger, anxiety, shame and grievance). So the authors draw the conclusions that emotional cross-over is common existence in primary and middle school; Moreover, teachers and students' emotion will affect each other. The present study examined the teachers' emotional state, and the students perceived and feeling their teachers' emotional states. This is a beginning to explore emotional cross-over in education from psychology aspect. So this study provided the basis for the research of teachers' emotional labor and emotion transfer between teachers and students. In the future studies, researchers should pay more attention to the study of emotional cross-over in education, and the negative emotions.
