大学生性格优势对主观幸福感的作用机制

作为积极心理学的两大核心研究领域,性格优势和主观幸福感对人的成长和全面发展有着重要的作用。大量研究表明大学生性格优势对其主观幸福感具有重要的影响,但性格优势究竟"怎样"影响主观幸福感以及"何时"影响更强,已有研究鲜有涉及。本研究以主观幸福感的人格—环境交互作用模型为理论框架,并结合已有的实证研究,假设性格优势通过优势运用作用于主观幸福感,且该中介过程的后半路径受生活事件的调节。本研究采用整群随机抽样的方法对重庆市和新乡市某两所大学大一到大三800名大学生进行问卷调查,运用结构方程模型技术考察大学生性格优势、优势运用、生活事件和主观幸福感之间的关系。结果发现:(1)优势运用在性格优势和主观幸福感之间起部分中介的作用,即性格优势既对主观幸福感产生直接影响,也通过优势运用对主观幸福感产生间接影响;(2)生活事件对优势运用的中介作用起到调节作用,即优势运用对主观幸福感的影响随着个体所体验到的生活事件的增加而提升;优势运用对个体的主观幸福感起着有调节的中介作用。本研究具有重要的理论价值和实践意义。首先,理论上,有助于理解性格优势是"怎样"影响主观幸福感的,以及"何时"影响更强,进而丰富了性格优势对主观幸福感影响机制的理论研究;同时也为主观幸福感的人格-环境交互作用理论提供了一定的实证依据。其次,实践上,根据性格优势对主观幸福感的影响机制,采取有针对性的措施,有效提高个体的主观幸福感,从而促进其心理健康,实现内心的自我和谐。
Character strengths and subjective well-being are primary concerns of positive psychology. Recent researches have found that college students' character strengths affected their well-being. However, these researches didn't elucidate "how" and "when". According to the personality-environment interaction model of subjective well-being and the existing empirical researches, this study hypothesized that strengths use mediated the relation between character strengths and subjective well-being and life events served as a moderator of the relation between strengths use and subjective well-being. In order to test aforementioned hypotheses, 800 college students from freshmen to junior in two universities in Chongqing and Xinxiang were chosen randomly and investigated with scales, and structural equation modeling techniques were used to explore the relationship of character strengths, strengths use, life events and subjective well-being. The results showed that:(1) Strengths use partly mediated the effect of character strengths on subjective well-being, and character strengths had not only direct impact on subjective well-being but indirectly affected subjective well-being through strengths use.(2) Life events moderated the mediating effect of strengths use, whose impact rose as the level of life events did. Thus strengths use had moderated mediating effect on subjective well-being. The present study deepens our understanding of the relationship between college students' character strengths and subjective well-being by attempting to examine how and when character strengths relates to increased subjective well-being and provides a empirical study for the personality-environment interaction model of subjective well-being. Furthermore, it suggests that more targeted measures are proposed to improve college students' subjective well-being according to the mechanism that character strengths impact on subjective well-being among college students.
