日常生活中人们会将"右"和"左"与积极或消极的事物相联系,这种效价和物理空间的关联现象被称为左右空间的情感效价。躯体特异性假说认为这种联结与人们的用手习惯有关,不同利手的人拥有不同的模式,即右利手的人会将"右"和积极相联系,"左"和消极相联系,而左利手的人正好相反。而极性一致性原则认为在二分类的任务中,人们会将积极编码为"+"极,消极编码为"—"极,右编码为"+"极,左编码为"—"极。效价-空间的联结效应是因为剌激-反应极性相匹配的结果。一致性效应发生在正性刺激与正性维度之间,而负性刺激与负性维度效应并不明显。两种理论在"左"与消极效价是否存在联结存在争议。一般的词汇效价判断的双按键反应任务中,反应手和反应位置所携带的空间信息是一致的,结果发现"右"和积极存在可靠的联结,但是"左"与消极的联结并不稳定。在交叉手的研究中,效价和"左"、"右"的联结与反应手有关而与反应键位置无关,此时左手与消极的联结也不明显。以往关于左右空间情感效价的反应时研究中均有反应手的参与。在当前的研究中,我们选择右利手被试,探讨当没有反应手的参与,即采用口头报告的方式对词汇效价进行判断时,是否还会出现空间和效价的联结,这种联结的具体模式又是怎样的。本研究包括三个实验:在实验1中被试双手正常放置,对词汇效价进行左右按键反应。在实验2中被试双手交叉,对词汇效价进行判断。在实验3中采用口头报告的方式对词汇效价进行判断。结果发现:(1)验证了左右空间的情感效价;(2)当反应手和反应键的空间信息冲突时,效价与反应手的空间信息相一致,而与物理空间不一致,表现在右手(左键)对积极反应更快;(3)即使没有反应手的参与,仍然存在积极效价和右侧空间的联结,而消极效价和左侧空间的联结不明显。研究结论:支持极性一致性原则,而交叉手实验的结果可能是因为将"右手"编码为"+"极强度高于将"右键"编码为"+"极。
In daily life, people tend to associate right/left with positive /negative things. The associated phenomena between emotional valence and physical space is space affective valence. According to the body-specificity hypothesis, this association is related to the handedness. people associate positive things with the side of space that corresponds to their dominant hand and negative things with the side corresponding to their nondominant hand. The right-handers and the left-handers have opposite modes. According to the polarity correspondence principle, participants in binary classification tasks code positive stimuli and right as "+ " polarity and negative stimuli and left as "-" polarity. The polarity correspondence principle assumes that stimulus and response alternatives with the same coding are associated and predicts an interaction between stimulus and response alternative driven by the salient stimulus. The dispute between the two theories is that whether there is the association between negative valence and left space. In the normal valence judgment by pressing a left or right key task which hand and side carry the congruent information, the result is that positive is related to right reliably,but there is no reliable relationship between negative and left..In the study which keep the hands crossed, a compatibility effect related to hand emerged, but the relationship between negative and left hand is not significant as well as. All of the previous response time studies about the space affective valence include the response hands, so the present study selected the right-handers and aimed to test the association between emotional valence and physical space in the vocal response which excluded the response hands. And what was the particular mode? This study included three experiments: in experiment 1, participants placed hands normally, and completed the valence judgment task of emotional words. Experiment 2 had the same task with experiment 1,but participants needed to keep their hands crossed. Experiment 3 had the same task with experiment 1 and 2, but the way to respond was vocal response, which said left\right to valence. The results :(1) verifying the existence of space affective valence.(2) when hand and side carry incongruent information, this compatibility effect was related to hand not to side, and particularly the association between positive valence and right hand(left key) was significant.(3) Though without response hands,there still existed the contact between valence and space. Right-hander participants contacted right physical space with positive valence. There was no significant association between negative valence and left physical space.The results provided evidences for the polarity correspondence principle, and the reason of Experiment 2 result seemed to that the strength of coding right hand as "+" is stronger than right key as "+".
