情绪对注意控制的影响:动机的调节作用

情绪对注意控制功能的影响是当前心理学研究的热点之一,但是至今尚未达成一致性结论。根据情绪动机维度模型,情绪除效价和唤醒度维度外,还具有第三个维度,即动机性。情绪的动机强度决定情绪对注意范围、记忆范围、认知分类等认知加工范围的影响,高动机强度的情绪窄化认知加工范围,低动机强度的情绪扩展认知加工范围。受情绪动机维度模型的启发,发现先前关于情绪与注意控制的研究几乎都没有考虑情绪的动机性。因此,本研究控制情绪的效价和唤醒度,考察情绪的动机性对注意控制的影响。在实验一与实验二中用情绪图片诱发被试不同动机方向和强度的情绪,再由被试分别完成双选择oddball任务与任务转换作业。结果发现:高趋近与高回避动机的情绪使被试对oddball任务中偏差刺激的反应更慢,对标准刺激反应更快。在任务转换作业中,在重复条件下反应时更快,在转换条件下有更大的反应时和错误率转换代价;低趋近动机的情绪使被试对偏差刺激的反应更快,在转换任务中降低反应时转换代价;低回避动机的情绪对偏差刺激及转换任务没有影响。研究结果说明情绪的动机方向和强度共同调节对注意控制的影响,在趋近性动机方向下,高动机强度情绪阻碍抑制与转换功能,低动机强度情绪促进抑制与转换功能;在回避性动机方向下,高动机强度情绪也损害抑制与转换功能,低动机强度情绪对注意控制功能则没有影响。
The influence of emotion on attentional control function is one of the hot spot of current psychological research. However, it has yet to reach a consistent conclusion. In most previous work on the attentional and cognitive consequences of emotion, research has focused on the valence dimension, that is, whether the affect is positive or negative. Another important and relatively neglected dimension of affect is motivational. According to the motivational dimensional model of affect, in addition to the valence and arousal dimension, emotion also has a third dimension, that is the motivation. The motivational strength of emotion plays a key role to the cognitive processing such as the breadth of attention, memory, and cognitive categorisation. Specifically, eomtion high in motivational intensity should narrow the scope of cognitive processing; in contrast, eomtion low in motivational intensity should broaden the scope of cognitive processing. Inspired by the motivational dimensional model of affect, it's found that in most previous work on emotion and attentional control function, the motivational dimension was rarely considered. Therefore, the current research explored the effect of emotional motivation to attentional control function, while commanded the emotional valence and arousal. In experiment 1 and experiment 2, emotion state varing in motivational direction and intensity were induced by emotional images, then participants completed the double choose oddball task and the switching task. The results showed that after the induction of high approach and avoidance motivational affect, participants reacted more slowly to the deviation stimuli, and more fast to the standard stimuli in the oddball task. During the switching task, the participants' reaction was faster under the condition of repetition, and had more switching cost on reaction time and error rate under the switching condition; Affect of low approach motivational intensity speeded participants' reaction to deviation stimuli, and reduced the reaction conversion cost under the switching condition;However, Low avoidance motivational affect had no effect on the deviation stimuli of oddball task and switching condition of switching task. The results suggests that the attentional control function is regulated by both the emotional motivational direction and strength. Under the direction of approaching motivation, emotion of high motivational intensity impares inhibition and switching function, while emotion of low motivational intensity facilitates inhibition and switching function; Under the avoidance motivational direction, emotion of high motivational strength also damages inhibition and switching function, while emotion of low motivational intensity has no effect on attentional control function.
