摘要
研究目的:在婚姻生活中,夫妻经常围绕不同的话题产生婚姻冲突。以往研究者强调,围绕某些话题产生的冲突能够引发更为消极的冲突解决行为并对婚姻质量产生更强的破坏性。而新婚阶段是夫妻亲密关系形成的适应转换期,可能面临更为频繁的冲突。因此本研究旨在探讨新婚夫妻的冲突话题、冲突解决策略及婚姻质量之间的关系。被试:268对婚龄3年以内,家住北京、没有孩子、初婚的新婚夫妻,其中,婚龄1年以内的夫妻152对,1-2年的夫妻74对,2-3年的夫妻42对。测量工具:采用Norton(1983)编制的婚姻质量量表测量婚姻质量;采用自编的冲突话题量表测量夫妻在家庭生活、工作学习和社会交往冲上产生冲突的频率;采用Kerig(1996)编制的冲突解决策略量表测量夫妻合作策略、回避/投降策略、阻碍/抵制策略、言语攻击策略和肢体攻击策略的使用频率;问卷具有良好的内部一致性(丈夫:.59~.93,妻子.53~.95)。施测程序:每对被试夫妻单独施测,要求夫妻独立完成问卷,不允许有言语或非言语交流。整个过程由1名主试在场监控并随时回答夫妻的疑问,主试均为经过严格培训的心理学院学生。问卷填写完毕后,主试确认无明显错误后当场回收并进行编号,回收率为100%。结果:(1)夫妻报告的家庭生活冲突能显著负向预测丈夫的婚姻质量;妻子报告的家庭生活冲突能显著负向预测自身的婚姻质量,妻子报告的社会交往冲突能显著正想预测自身的婚姻冲突;(2)如图1所示,丈夫的回避/投降和言语攻击策略能部分中介自身的家庭生活冲突对自身婚姻质量的影响;丈夫的回避/投降策略能完全中介妻子家庭生活冲突对丈夫婚姻质量的影响;妻子的言语攻击策略能部分中介妻子的家庭生活冲突对妻子婚姻质量的影响。结论:夫妻的家庭生活冲突对婚姻质量最有破坏力,并且能够影响回避/投降和言语攻击策略的使用影响婚姻质量。
Statement of the problem: Marital conflicts are common for couples, while topics discussed are various. Previous researches indicate that some topics can invoke more negative interactions of couples and are more destructive for marital quality. Thus the present study is to investigate the direct effect of marital conflicts of different topics on marital quality for newlywed couples who are more likely to face conflicts during transition stage from I to we, and more importantly, the mediation effect of spousal marital conflict resolution strategies. Subjects: Newlywed couples who live in Beijing, China, have been married less than 3 years, childless and in their first marriage were recruited publicly for this study through Internet, community advertisement, and acquaintance referrals. 152 couples had been married less than 1 year; 74 couples had been married for 1 to 2 years; 42 couples had been married for 2-3 years. Procedure: Research lasted from November 10 th, 2011 to January 8th, 2013, and 268 couples finally agreed to complete the research. Participants completed consent forms approved by Institute of Developmental Psychology, School of Psychology, Beijing Normal University and then finished questionnaires including scales used in this abstract. For all couples, a trained experimenter majoring in psychology explained the study before they started and kept at present to answer questions if possible. When questionnaire was finish, experimenters asked permit to check whether there were missing or invalid responses and retrieved questionnaires on the spot, so the retrieving rate and valid rate were both 100%. Marital Quality Index(Norton,1983) is used to measure marital quality; conflict topics are measured by Conflict Content Scale which is edited by researchers and her colleagues to estimate frequency of marital conflict on three aspects including family chores, work/study stress and interpersonal stress; conflict resolution strategies are measured by Conflict Problem-Solving Scales(Kerig, 1996). Coefficient αs are high in this study(.59~.93 for husbands,.53~.95 for wives). Results:(1) husband's marital conflicts about family chores negatively predict marital quality husband reports; while wife's marital conflicts in the same area negatively predict marital quality both spouses report; wife's marital conflicts evoked by her interpersonal stress positively predict the marital quality wife reports;(2) As Figure 1 indicates, husband's avoidance and verbal aggression partly mediate the influence of husband's family chores' conflicts on husbands' marital quality; husband's avoidance totally mediates the influence of wife's marital conflicts about family chores on his own marital quality; wife's verbal aggression partly mediates the influence of wife's marital conflicts about family chores on wife's marital quality. Conclusion: Topics of marital conflict is an important contextual variable to influence newlyweds' evaluation on their marriage; conflicts about family chores are more destructive while conflicts invoked by wives work/study and interpersonal stress are benefiting to couples' marital quality. In addition, the negative effect of conflicts in family chores are mediated by husbands' avoidance and verbal aggression and wives' verbal aggression.
