大学生拖延与压力:自我同情的中介作用

拖延是大学生中普遍存在的行为。拖延不仅会导致个体学习和工作上的延误,还会带来诸如压力等负性情绪体验,并可能进一步影响个体的心理和生理健康。国内外的研究均发现拖延与压力相关密切,但是拖延为何会增加个体的压力?这一问题有待进一步的探讨。以往的研究发现高拖延者有更多的自责、自我贬低等负性自我评价,而负性自我评价与压力有关。自我同情指个体能以宽容和理解的态度客观评价自己,而不是以严厉的批判的态度看待自己的缺点和不足。因此,提升自我同情可能有助于改善负性自我评价,进而减少拖延所带来的压力。本研究考察了自我同情在拖延与压力关系中的中介作用。以Aitken拖延问卷、自我同情量表和中文版压力知觉量表为工具对温州某高校438名大学生(M=20.68岁,SD=1.25,男生123人,女生314人)进行问卷测查。相关分析结果发现:大学生拖延得分与压力显著正相关(r=0.44,p<0.01),与自我同情显著负相关(r=-0.24,p<0.01),同时发现自我同情与压力也显著负相关(r=-0.46,p<0.01)。进一步中介效应分析结果显示,自我同情在大学生拖延与压力之间起部分中介作用。这一结果表明,拖延程度的高低不仅会直接影响大学生所体验到的压力感,而且会通过自我同情水平间接影响压力感。本研究结果对进一步制定有效的压力调节干预策略具有一定的指导意义。
Procrastination is a common and pervasive problem among college students. Procrastination not only lead to delay in students' study and work, but also bring negative emotion such as stress that may take a toll on both psychological and physical well-being. there is evidence that procrastination correlated with stress, but the ways in which procrastination may be linked to increased stress need to be further explored. Previous researches have demonstrated that procrastinators have more negative self evaluations such as self blame and self-depreciation, which correlated with stress. Self-compassion refers to take a kind and understanding stance toward oneself rather than being harshly self-critical. So, promoting self-compassion may improve low self evaluation and reduce the stress associated with negative self evaluation. The present study explored the role of self-compassion in the relation between procrastination and stress. A total of 438 students(M = 20.68 years, SD = 1.25, 123 male, 314 female) from one university in Wenzhou were surveyed by Aitken Procrastination Inventory, Self-Compassion Scale and the Chinese version Perceived Stress Scale. The results indicated that procrastination was positively correlated with stres(sr = 0.44, p < 0.01) and negatively correlated with self-compassion(r =-0.24, p < 0.01), while self-compassion was negatively correlated with stress(r =-0.46, p < 0.01); Tests of mediation effect revealed that the relation between procrastination and stress was partially mediated by self-compassion. The results suggested that procrastination has both a direct and an indirect effect through self-compassion on stress.
