Genetic Diversity of ATP Synthase F_0 Subunit 6(ATP6)in the Phytophthora infestans from Potato

The genetic diversity of ATP synthase F_0 subunit 6(ATP6) in Phytophthora infestans was analyzed by sequencing 139 isolates sampled from potato from seven groups of six parts of China.Result show that ATP6 in Phytophthora infestans population had high haplotype diversity(H_d =0.538> 0.5) but low nucleotide diversity(P_i=0.000 9 < 0.005).It is meant that bottlenecks associated with rapid population growth and accumulation of mutations.Most genetic variation in the gene occurred within population,and pairwise population subdivision was at low to moderate level.The haplotype network analysis showed that ATP6 haplotype were consisted of seven groups.Neutrality tests and mismatch distribution analyses suggested that population expansion might occur in the gene.
