Newly recorded fungal species from soil in Korea in 2013,2014 and 2015

Soil fungal diversity study was carried out from field soil in 2013,2014 and 2015 from different places of Korea.In 2013,soil samples were collected from the Gangwon-do province.11 fungal species were identified as a new record from the isolated fungal isolates from 576 soil samples.Coniothyriumaleuritis(KNU13-1),Pseudallescheriaboydii(KNU13-2),Penicilliummenonorum(KNU13-3),Mortierellaalpina(KNU13-4),Oidiodendronflavum(KNU13-5),Penicilliumcremeogriseum(KNU13-6),Purpureocilliumlilacinum(KNU13-7),Torulacaligans(KNU13-8),Scolecobasidiumterreum(KNU13-9),Thielaviaterricola(KNU13-10) and Colletotrichumpisi(KNU13-11) were the newly unreported fungal species recovered in 2013.500 soil samples were isolated in 2014 from Gyeonggi-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do.12 new fungal isolates were recovered as a new record in Korea.Volutellaciliata(KNU14-1),Pseudeurotiumbakeri(KNU14-2),Fusicollaacetilerea(KNU14-3),Mortierellazychae(KNU14-5),Neosartoryaaureola(KNU14-7),Paecilomycesmarquandii(KNU14-8),Chaetomiummadrasense(KNU14-9),Talaromycespurpurogenus(KNU14-10),Phialocephalalagerbergii(KNU14-11),Penicilliumrubidurum(KNU14-12),Gongronellabutleri(KNU14-13-1) and Mortierellaambigua(KNU14-14) were identified as a new record in 2014.In addition,17 new fungal species was identified from 550 soil samples from Jeollanam-do province.Thielaviaterricola,Thielaviahyrcaniae,Zopfiellalongicaudata,Cladosporiumsilenes,Cordycepschlamydosporia,Pochoniasuchlasporia,Paraphaeosphaeriasporulosa,Acremoniumzonatum,Xylogonesphaerospora,Humicolopsiscephalosporioides,Mortierellaindohii,Sporothrixinflata,Pseudeurotiumbakeri,Acremoniumcellulolyticus,Talaromycestrachyspermus,Umbelopsisdimorpha,and Paecilomycestenuis were obtained in 2015.Soil samples were isolated through the serial dilution technique.Morphological characteristics of the newly identified fungal isolates wasalso studied under the simplemicroscope and scanning electron microscope.The genomic DNA of each isolates was extracted using QIAGEN® Plasmid Mini Kit(QIAGEN Sciences,USA) and the identification of fungi was carried out by sequence analysis of internal transcribed spacer(ITS) region of the 18 S ribosomal DNA(18S r DNA).Along with ITS region,B-tubulin and calmodulin gene sequencing was also performed for the precise identification of the isolates.
