Amorphous metal fiber has high corrosion resistance,excellent mechanical properties and is good material for reinforcing concrete matrix.The structure of amorphous metal fiber was tested by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) was used to measure the thermal properties.The corrosion behaviour of amorphous metal fiber compared with stainless steel fiber was investigated by electrochemical polarization in 0.5 M H_2SO_4,0.1 M FeCl_3 and 3.5wt%NaCl solutions.The results show that amorphous metal fiber exhibits more superior corrosion resistance than that of stainless steel fiber.The amorphous metal fiber has excellent pitting corrosion resistance in 3.5 wt%NaCl solution,and the stainless steel fiber is susceptible to pitting corrosion.The amorphous metal fiber is spontaneously passivated in 0.1 M FeCl_3 solutions,and the stainless steel fiber doesn't form passivation.
