由于癌症发病率逐渐增加,迫切需要更精确的诊断方法和更有效的治疗药物。而光诊疗剂是一种集诊断与治疗功能一体化的新型纳米诊疗药物,开拓了肿瘤治疗模式的新途径,在多模态肿瘤成像和多功能治疗方面具有广泛的应用价值。本文制备了多功能光诊疗试剂金纳米棒@二氧化硅-碳点(GNR@SiO_2-CDs)纳米复合物,可用于荧光/光声双模态成像引导的光动力/光热多功能治疗肿瘤。其中,CDs可作为荧光成像和光动力治疗试剂,而GNRs用于肿瘤的光声成像和光热治疗。该多功能光诊疗试剂GNR@SiO_2-CDs在体内具有低毒性、优异的光诊疗效果,为肿瘤治疗提供了新途径,拓展了GNRs和CDs作为新型光诊疗试剂在肿瘤诊疗方面的应用。
Phototheranostics, which is the application of light for the diagnostic imaging and therapy of cancer, has great promise for multimodal cancer imaging and effective therapy. Herein, we synthesized a multifunctional GNR@SiO_2-CDs phototheranostic agent by incorporating carbon dots(CDs) with gold nanorods(GNRs), using SiO 2 as a scaffold. In GNR@SiO_2-CDs, the GNRs act as both photoacoustic imaging and photothermal therapy agents, and the CDs serve as fluorescent imaging and photodynamic therapy agents. These excellent properties make GNR@SiO_2-CDs a novel phototheranostic agent in which the dual fluorescent/photoacoustic imaging modalities can be achieved with high sensitivity and good spatial resolution to provide precise localization of the tumor for photothermal/photodynamic treatments. The combination of photothermal therapy and photodynamic therapy was proven to more efficiently kill cancer cells compared to photothermal therapy or photodynamic therapy alone. Our work highlights the promise of using GNRs and CDs as novel phototheranostic agents for multifunctional cancer therapies.
