摘要
This paper analyzes the hard course of China's modernization by using the thinking method of balance, sums up the historical experience and lessons in China's economic and social development since the founding of New China through in-depth study, and puts forwards some suggestions to improve China's development theory and policy system. During the first 30 years after the founding of PRC, China witnessed continuous political and economic movements, including the Great Leap Forward, which aimed to realize communism earlier relying on a highly-politicized planned economy and a mass movement. Its result proved that haste makes waste, and the lesson from it was profound. The 30 years and more since China's reform and opening up have witnessed the movement of chasing wealth, which is another Great Leap Forward. Relying on a market-oriented economy that focuses on economic development and involves the participation of the whole society, the government aims to realize an overall well-off society, but many Chinese people become indifferent and apathetic when getting rich, and there are crises in moral convictions, beliefs and trust in the whole society, which lacks the values of self-confidence, responsibility, foresight and sagacity, so the lesson from it is also profound. In the new era, the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics includes not only the theory of the primary stage of socialism, the CPC's basic line for the primary stage of socialism and the three-step development strategy, but also the idea of balanced development; and its development goals includes not only the goal of building a socialist market economy, but also the goals of building the socialist democracy under the rule of law and constructing ecological civilization. We need to further improve China's development theory and policy system, and analyze and solve problems by using the thinking method of balance, as so to promote China's sustainable development.
