Preparation of bamboo based porous carbon with steam activation:Optimization using response surface methodology

摘要
Waste bamboo was converted into a high-quality porous carbon(PC) via steam physical activation.Influences of the three parameters,activation temperature,activation time and steam flow rate on the adsorption capacity and yield of waste bamboo based porous carbon(WBPC) were investigated using analysis of variance(ANOVA),the operational variables were optimized utilizing the response surface methodology and were identified to be an activation temperature of 995°C,an activation duration of 39 min and a steam flow rate of 1.36 ml/min with an iodine number of 1042 mg/g and yield of 5.2 %.The study supported utilization of waste bamboo as a potential precursor.
