单链DNA包裹的单壁碳纳米管的手性选择性荧光增强研究

摘要
在本工作中,我们提供了一种在水溶液中对单壁碳纳米管荧光进行手性选择性增强的便捷方法。采用单链DNA分散并修饰上金纳米颗粒,我们获得了十倍左右碳管的总荧光增强。更重要的是,通过使用文献~([1])报道对特定手性碳管具有识别作用的特定DNA序列,我们观测到该手性碳管的选择性荧光增强。在此荧光增强过程中,DNA充当了碳管和金纳米颗粒之间合适的间隔物,一方面紧密包裹和保护碳管、使其不与金直接接触而导致荧光淬灭,另一方面在水溶液中吸引金纳米颗粒靠近碳管从而获得荧光增强。这种荧光增强的方法可用于碳管的荧光分析、生物成像,以及单链DNA分离单一手性碳管的预筛选中。
Here we provide a convenient method to enhance the photoluminescence(PL) of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) in aqueous solutions. Dispersing by ssDNA and modifying with gold nanoparticles(AuNPs), we observe about 10-fold PL enhancement of the SWNTs. More importantly, we achieve the selective PL enhancement for some particular chiralities of interest over all other chiralities, by using certain specific ssDNA sequences that were reported to recognize these particular chiralities. By forming Au NP-DNA-SWNT nano hybrids, ssDNA serves as superior molecular spacers that on one hand protect SWNT from direct contacting with AuNP and causing PL quench, and on the other hand attract the AuNP in close proximity to the SWNT to enhance its PL. This PL enhancement method can be utilized for the PL analysis of SWNTs in aqueous solutions, for biomedical imaging, and may serve as a pre-screening method for the recognition and separation of single chirality SWNTs by ssDNA.
