摘要
苗族刺绣历史悠久,技法精湛,色彩明艳,具有独特的艺术风格和苗族特色。目前,苗绣作品正走向国际市场,但苗绣作品的翻译存在许多问题,比如用词不统一、望文生义、缺乏背景介绍等,这些翻译问题会影响苗绣这一民族瑰宝向海外的传播。苗绣作品中含有大量难以理解的文化专有项(culture-specific items),西班牙翻译工作者艾克西拉于1996年提出了十一项文化专有项的翻译策略,该策略对苗绣作品的翻译具有很强的指导性。笔者在个案分析的基础上,总结归纳出苗绣作品常用的英译方法,并探讨该策略对苗绣作品英译的指导意义。
As time-honored traditional Miao craft,the embroidery boasts exquisite technique,bright colors,and unique artistic styles and features.At present,Miao embroidery enters into the international market,but the translation of embroidery works has many problems like inconsistency of words,translation without real understanding and lack of background explanation.All these problems will hinder the promotion of the Miao culture.There are a large number of incomprehensible culture-specific items(CSIs) in Miao embroidery.Javier Franco Aixelá,a Spanish translator,proposed 11 kinds of translation strategies for cultural-specific items.I conclude some common translation methods on the basis of analyzing cases,and discuss the guidance of Aixelá's strategies for Miao embroidery.
