基于内容多媒体数据库引擎及其体系结构研究

摘要
近几年来,由于多媒体技术和网络技术的飞速发展,多媒体数据已成为用户所需信息资源的重要组成部分。同传统数据库管理系统支持的简单数据类型相比较,多媒体数据具有信息关联度大、数据结构复杂、数据量巨大、媒体处理要求高等特点。此外,在实际应用中,用户希望数据库管理系统不仅能够对多媒体数据实施有效的管理,如存储、海量索引,还希望能够对多媒体数据的内容进行自动或半自动化处理,如结构化分析、内容分析、语义分析、摘要生成等等,帮助用户快速获取相关信息。因此,如何扩充现有的数据库管理系统,使它在不损失原有性能的基础上,能管理大量的多媒体信息,从而为用户开发多媒体应用提供了良好的数据库支持,已成为信息时代人们迫切需要解决的问题。
     本文通过分析多媒体数据库管理系统的特点,并结合系统的实际需要,针对基于内容多媒体数据库管理系统,提出了一种新的构建方法:“基于内容多媒体数据库引擎+对象-关系数据库管理系统(ORDBMS)=基于内容多媒体数据库管理系统”。经过实验验证,证明该方法能够对多媒体数据进行有效的管理。
     本文的主要工作在于:
     1.提出开研究了基于内容多媒体数据库引擎的体系结构。研究了基于内容多媒体数据库引擎与数据库管理系统的结合方式,以及ORDBMS中为基于内容多媒体数据库引擎提供的各种技术支持,例如:数据类型扩展、继承、规则和大对象。
     2.研究了基于内容多媒体数据库引擎中的关键模块—DataTool,并以Oracle数据库为基础设计和实现了DataTool模块。
     3.设计和实现了基于内容多媒体数据库引擎。通过实验验证,证明新的构建方法能够对多媒体数据进行有效的管理。
With great development of multimedia technology in recent years, multimedia data becomes a very important part of user's information resources. Compared with the traditional relational database management system, which supports simple data type, multimedia database has the characters of close information relationship, complex data type, great capacity of data amount, highly efficiently processing ability, etc. What's more, in application, users hope database management system can not only manage data efficiently, such as storing, indexing of great capacity, but also have the ability to process multimedia content automatic or semi-automatic, such as structurizing analysis, content analysis, syntax analysis, abstract generating, etc, to help users to capture the related information quickly. So how to develop the existing database management system, to make it restore more multimedia information on the base of inheriting the existing functions, and to support database management system for
    users to develop multimedia application have been in instant need in the era of information.
    In this thesis, after studied mans kinds of multimedia database management systems, and take the practice demands into consider, we propose a new method of "content-based multimedia database engine + object-relational database management system" to construct content-based multimedia database management system. Through experiments testifying, it is proved that the method we proposed can be competent for the management task of the content-based multimedia database.
    The main work of this thesis consists:
    1. Bring forward the architecture of content-based multimedia database engine. Studied the combination methods of content-based multimedia database engine and database management system, and the various supporting-technology for content-based multimedia database engine in object-relational database management system, such as data type extending, inheriting, rule, big object.
    2. Studied the key module of content-based multimedia database engine. DataTool module, then design and complete DataTool module on the base of Oracle database.
    3. Design and implement content-based multimedia database engine. And through experiments, it is proved that the method we proposed can be competent for the management task of the content-based multimedia database.
