This paper is about partial work supported by Chinese Petroleum Chemical Engineering Company. It is include measurement of density and viscosity related systems of PTA synthesized process.
The densities and viscosities were measured by a vibrating densitometer (model DA-505 U) and a Ubbelohde suspended-level viscometer at atmospheric pressure for systems of p-xylene + cyclohexane, p-xylene + n-heptane, benzene + sulfolane, toluene + sulfolane, ethylbenzene + sulfolane, o-xylene + sulfolane, m-xylene + sulfolane, p-xylene + sulfolane, cyclohexane + N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, benzene + N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, toluene + N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, ethylbenzene + N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and p-xylene + N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, total 13 systems. The excess molar volumes and deviation of viscosity were calculated. The VE and Δη were fitted by Redlich-Kister equation respectively.
At high pressure, the density and viscosity for pure substances of the n-pentane, cyclohexane, n-octane, isooctane, benzene and ethylbenzene were measured by vibrating-wire viscometer in different temperature range. The binary mixture of the p-xylene and cyclohexane at different compositions were also measured.
Furthermore, the vibrating-wire viscometer for high temperature and high pressure was improved. It expanded the measurement range of this instrument. Based on reliability confirmed by experiment, viscosities and densities of the p-xylene, n-heptane and dimethyl carbonate were measured.
