IP网络管理产品的性能测试

摘要
Tektronix,Inc.公司作为世界上主要的测试设备提供商,为全世界的电信运营商与设备制造商提供固定和移动网络的监控设备。GeoProbe产品系列,属于Tektronix的网络管理产品线,日前已经实现了SS7/Sigtran/VoIP等协议的覆盖。随着运营商对运营维护水平的要求,世界各大主要运营商如AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon,02等均引入了GeoProbe产品系列以实现对各主要网元进行监控。同时,随着下一代网络(NGN)的演进与发展,作为其核心的软交换已经成为业界的研究热点,受到越来越多的运营商和通信设备厂商的关注。软交换是一种基于软件的分布式交换和控制平台,核心思路是通过业务与呼叫控制分离、呼叫控制与承载分离实现相对独立的业务体系,这种分离有利于快速引入新业务。软交换是多种逻辑功能实体的集合,各实体之间通过标准的协议进行连接和通信,H.248协议就是软交换与媒体网关之间的标准接口协议。
     由于H.248协议建立在业务与呼叫控制相分离等“智能”业务属性上,它的迅速推广、应用也要求GeoProbe平台进行相应的改进。
     随着H.248协议从R5到R6的演进,本文将介绍在Tektronix GeoProbe平台上搭建测试环境对H.248 R6中新引入的一些特性进行验证。通过测试环境的配置与建立,根据R6相对于R5的具体变化进行了改进、利用K1297工具制作信令单元以及将H.248拓展到与CAMEL、RTCP以及IuCS协议的关联中等一系列工作。
     GeoProbe平台可以同时对多个网络接口进行监控。由于承载H.248的Mc接口(媒体网关与媒体网关控制器之间的接口)与承载RTP/RTCP的Nb接口(媒体网关之间的接口)之间存在一定的互动性,而Nb接口上承载的RTP流与RTCP协议被广泛应用于IPTV领域,因此,在本文的最后,也对GeoProbe在IPTV平台的应用进行了相应的拓展。
Tektronix' industry-leading Unified Assurance(UA) network management suite provides integrated,end-to-end performance monitoring sohitions for customer,service and network assurance.UA supports a full range of monitoring capabilities across next generation mobile and IP networks, including active test solutions that provide active troubleshooting, provisioning and automated service quality monitoring.The Tektronix solutions quickly identify,localize and quantify service and network issues, giving customers an integrated,end-to-end next generation network.The GeoProbe product provides network engineers with the information needed to solve network and service problems across technologies,applications and element vendors.With GeoProbe products,network operations personnel can proactively monitor,manage,diagnose,and troubleshoot the overall health of mobile,fixed,and multi-service networks.In addition,GeoProbe empowers engineering and planning departments to improve network capacity growth and traffic management decision-making.
     With the evolvement and development of next generation network,the technology of soft switch is playing the core role of the industy and becoming the focus of network operators and network equipment vendors' investment. Soft switch is a type of platform based on software distributional switch and control,which means separating traffic from call control and separating call control from bearing as well.It leads to a relative independent architect,which helps facilitate new traffics.Soft switch is a sophisticated set comprises several logic functional entities,which connect and communicate between each other.Running on the interface between soft switch and media gateway, H.248 conducts the interactivity per the standard specification.
     It is requested that GeoProbe platform should evolve and develop by the promotion and application of H.248 in the industry so fast,since H.248 encloses the intellectual features such as separation of traffic and call control.
     With the evolvement of H.248 from R5 to R6,we will verify some new features imported fiom R6 through building and configuring the test bed. Based on the test environment,we will improve the performance,build signal units with K1297 and extend the application of H.248 on GeoProbe platform to multi-protocol correlation like H.248/RTCP,H.248/CAMEL and H.248/IuCS.
     GeoProbe is able to monitor some network interfaces concurrently.For the correlation between H.248,which is running on Mc interface between Media Gateway Controller and Media Gateway,and RTP/RTCP,which is running on Nb interface between Media Gateways and RTP/RTCP is popular in IPTV domaiin.the application will extend to the IPTV monitoring function.
