文学翻译中审美与文化二要素及其相互关系

摘要
审美与文化是文学翻译中最重要的二要素。审美要素在中西传
统译论中受到充分的重视，许多传统命题都围绕这一核心展开。中
国传统译论在这一方面尤为突出。现代翻译美学已初步建立起一套
包括审美主体、审美客体、审美活动和审美标准在内的美学框架。
文化翻译是近几年新兴的课题。由于历史原因文化要素在传统
译论中一直未受到充分重视。笔者在第二章着重阐述了文化要素应
有的地位及文化翻译的一个重要步骤：适当异化。所谓适当异化是
建立在对原文正确理解的基础上的适当保留原文文化色彩的翻译方
法。
在第三章中笔者重点探讨了审美与文化二者之间的相互关系。
我们必须采取一分为二的态度来看待这二者之间既对立又相互统一
的关系。当这二者相互对立时，我们必须舍弃部分的文化要素：毕
竟文学翻译的任务是保存和再现原文的文学价值而非单纯的文化传
播。
Aesthetics and culture are the two most important constituents in
literature translation. In traditional translation theory (especially in China)
aesthetic constituents enjoyed plenty of attention and became the main
topic of many traditional translation statements. Modem translation
aesthetics has built up a set of aesthetic frame including aesthetic subject,
object, activity and standard.
Cultural translation is a new subject in recent decades. For the
historical reasons cultural constituents did not get enough attention in
traditional translation field. In the second chapter the author emphatically
expounds the worthy position of cultural constituents and an important
requirement of cultural translation: appropriate alienation. Appropriate
alienation is to properly preserve the cultural constituents of the source
language text on the basis of correct understanding.
The third chapter attempts to discuss the relationship between
cultural and aesthetic constituents. We must adopt a dialectical attitude
towards the relationship: a unity of opposites. After all, the final purpose
of literature translation is to preserve and represent the literature value of
the original instead of translating culture.
