以太技术在城域传送网的应用

摘要
在城域传送网中如何高效、智能地支持分组业务,特别是以太业务,是当前传输通信领域的重要研究课题之一,也是城域网建设迫切需要解决的工程问题之一。本文针对以太网技术在城域传送网络中的应用实际,结合城域以太网论坛(Metro Ethernet Forum)的以太网业务模型,分析研究了关键技术。
     本文从分析城域传送网现状入手,结合城域传送网中实现数据业务的技术路线、关键技术,制定并实现了富有创新特色的解决方案。方案中采用了可堆叠式VLAN(Stackable VLAN)技术来建立城域以太网EVC连接,提出并采用了“自限”的概念,改造了用于以太交换网络的传统生成树算法和传统GVRP协议,实现了网络设备的分层、分自治域管理。方案从全新的角度实现了城域以太网的虚拟专用线业务(EVPL)和以太网专用局域网业务(EPLn),克服了其它方案存在的网络规划不灵活、扩展性差、带宽利用率不高等弱点。
     本文在方案的实现方面,以功能强大、性能稳定、方便灵活的网络处理器IXP1200为处理核心,结合多业务传送平台设备整机的具体要求,设计、构建了城域以太网处理单元的硬件平台。基于该硬件平台,根据本文提出的可堆叠式VLAN方案,设计了网络处理器的软件系统构架、微码数据结构和微码处理流程;方案实现最终完成了硬件开发调试,软件编码和系统测试。在多设备组成模拟网络环境的条件下,进行了全网测试,测试结果达到设计要求,满足工程应用需要。
     最后,在城域传送网中,将以太业务处理单元的各种应用方式做了总结。
The serious technology task and urgent project problem is how to support packet-services efficiently and intelligently in metro network. This dissertation bases on Metro-Ethernet-Forum Ethernet services, brings out a solution to solve this actual problem.
    This paper begins with analyzing current metro transport network. Combined with Ethernet work technologies, an innovative scheme has been proposed to solve transporting packet-service on metro transport network. In this scheme, the key technology is using Stackable VLAN to establish metro Ethernet EVC, and using 'self-limited' protocols to manage layered metro Ethernet network. This scheme gets over several severe shortcomings in other schemes, just like poor scalability in network design, low usage in network bandwidth utilization, etc.
    To implement this scheme, we designed hardware platform with powerful network processor IXP1200. Upon this platform, we designed software architecture, microcode data structure, and microcode process flows. After debugging, we take a carefully system test, and the results conform the design, and meet the requirements of real network applications.
    At last, we figures out several typical networking applications.
