本文根据对新发现的美国37篇英文报道的分析,指出张元济从英国到美国纽约的时间约在11月16日,他11月22日参观了纽约的少年法庭和少年感化所,11月29日参观了华盛顿的斯特朗·约翰·汤普森学校幼儿园和富兰克林学校。由此纠正了《张元济年谱长编》美国行程的一些讹误之处。
Based on the analysis of the newly discovered 37 English reports in the United States, thispaper points out that Zhang Yuanji arrived in New York from the United Kingdom on about November 16. He visited the Juvenile Court and Juvenile Reform Institute in New York on November 22, and the Strong John Thompson School Kindergarten and Franklin School in Washington, D.C. on November 29. These analytical findings corrected some of the errors relating to Zhang's visit to the United States in the Chronicle of Zhang Yuanji's Life.
