修昔底德《伯罗奔尼撒战争史》中的演说辞及其真实性问题研究

摘要
演说辞在修昔底德《伯罗奔尼撒战争史》全书中具有举足轻重的地位。关于修昔底德著作中演说辞的真实性问题历来为学者所关注,并引发了学者们的争议。本文对学者们关于这一问题的主要观点进行了细致分析,认为《伯罗奔尼撒战争史》一书中的演说辞既不是修昔底德对演说者实际所说的话的简单誊录,也不是修昔底德根据修辞学"适宜性"原则自由虚构的产物,而是他对演说者实际所说的话的理性建构,意在揭示人类行为背后的普遍规律和永恒真理。因而,修昔底德书中的演说辞既反映了当时希腊思想界和各演说者的"思想之真",更体现了修昔底德个人的"思想之真"。修昔底德对演说辞的理性建构,深刻反映了其史家自主性,以及试图从变动不居的历史中认识和把握普遍真理与规律的不懈努力,体现了古希腊史学观念的重大进步,并对西方后世史学的发展产生了深远影响。
The Speeches played an important role in Thucydides' History of The Peloponnesian War.The question of the authenticity of the speeches in Thucydides has always been the concern of scholars and has aroused the enthusiastic discussion among them.This paper makes a detailed analysis of the main points of the scholar on the subject,believing that the speeches in Thucydides are neither simple transcripts of "what was really said" of the speakers,nor product of free fiction by Thucydides,according to the rhetorical appropriateness,but the rational construction on the basis of "what was really said" of the speakers,intended to reveal the universal laws and eternal truths behind human behavior.Thus,the speeches in Thucydides not only reflect the ideological truth of the Greek thinkers and the speakers at that time,but also show the true thoughts of Thucydides.Thucydides' rational construction of the speeches,deeply reflected the historian's autonomy and effort to understand the universal truth from the unsettled history,and embodied the great progress of ancient Greek historiography,and had a profound influence on the western historiography.
