Evolution and Petroleum System of West Siberian Basin in Russia
详细信息
摘要

West Siberian Basin is a Mesozoic-Cenozoic giant cratonic basin, which possesses abundant oil and gas resources and can be regarded as the largest petroleum basin in the world. By using sequence stratigraphy method and on the bases of analyzing the course of tectono-sedimentary evolution, the basin is divided into 3 petroleum sys- tems. The comprehensive analyses of the source rocks, reservoirs, traps and other factors in each system show that Bazhenov-Neoeomian petroleum system is composed of a conventional petroleum reservoirs in Jurassic-Cenomanian Stage and self-sourced and self-preserved unconventional petroleum reservoirs in Bazhenov Formation; Togur-Tyu- men petroleum system forms a conventional petroleum reservoirs in the Lower-Middle Jurassic Tyumen Formations and the weathered crust petroleum reservoirs on the top of the basement; the Northern Mesozoic composite petrole- um system generates the gas reservoirs in Pokur Formation of Aptian-Cenomanian Stage and condensate reservoirs in Jurassic-Neocomian Stage.
