Amplification of Plane SH Waves by a Local Fault with Fracture Zone

The paper emphatically studies the surface motion on the surrounding site of a narrow fault and the effects of dynamic characteristics of the site on the wave diffraction. It shows that the fault fracture zone has important influence on the SH wave propagation, and significant amplification may appear, even if the fracture zone is very narrow, and the dynamic characteristics of the site also play an important role in the wave amplification.
