< P>& nbs p;the diffusio n of co albed g as i nto ex ploited wells. The pore structure of co al s am ple ch anges c aused by freeze-fr acturi ng were ch ar acterized by nucle ar m ag netic reso nance (NMR) and sc anni ng electro n microsco py (SEM), and a perme ability-c alcul atio n model w as em ployed to estim ate the perme ability of co al s am ple. The pore size distributio n, porosity, and perme ability of co al before and after freezi ng were analyzed. Results show th at freeze-fr acturi ng c an com plic ate the co al pore structure, and its com plexity is positively correl ated with the freezi ng tem per ature and co al moisture co nte nt. The m ai n m anifest atio n is the growth and ex pansio n of co al pores, with higher pore co nnectivity, ge ner atio n of g as see page pores with pore di ameter > 100 nm, and ex pansio n of origi nal pores i nto l arger o nes. By com pari ng the co nnectivity and see page s pace of the pore structure of co al before and after freezi ng, it is co ncluded th at freeze-fr acturi ng c an promote the co al se am perme ability sig nific antly, which is be nefici al for the ex ploit atio n of co albed g as.
