Three-body abrasion wear of granites was studied with respect to petrography. Abrasion resistance is more influenced by modal mineral composition than grain size. Overall Rosiwal hardness is highly correlated to abrasion resistance values. Knoop micro-hardness may not be a reliable indicator of granite wear resistance.
