A small molecule nonfullerene acceptor IDT-DPP-R with A1-A2-D-A2-A1 structure is designed and synthesized. IDT-DPP-R exhibits strong near-infrared absorption and appropriate energy level. Organic solar cells based on P3HT:IDT-DPP-R:PC61BM exhibit higher efficiency than those of P3HT:PC61BM and P3HT:IDT-DPP-R.
