Adsorption kinetics of Cu, Zn and Ni through column approach was studied. Adsorption mechanism between metal ions and sorbent materials was proposed. Adsorption capacity of metals largely affected by the timing of addition of DOM. Removal performance of metal ions by clay minerals and hydroxide was examined.
