Vitrification of iron oxide and glass cullet has been carried out. Varying the iron oxide/glass ratio, glassy or glass-ceramic materials are produced. ICP-AES tests show a good stability of these ceramics in terms of cationic release. The increasing iron amount leads to a sensible lowering of electrical resistivity. This low resistivity can be exploited in antistatic or thermoelectric applications.
