Dye retention in various solvents was tested for alumina membranes with PDMS-grafted pores. Retention was found to be dependent on the degree of solvent-induced graft swelling. Pore and solute diameter are used in the Spiegler-Kedem equations to model rejection. Proposed is a pore size for each solute transport mechanism, convection and diffusion.
