Isoniazid-resistant Mycobacterium kansasii in an HIV-positive patient, and possible development of immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome after initiation of highly active antiretroviral therapy: case report
We present the first report of Mycobacterium kansasii pulmonary infection in Serbia.

The course of illness, along with treatment, is documented.

Immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS) is well described in HIV patients treated for mycobacterial infections.

Multidrug-resistant mycobacteria are an increasing problem.

Several treatment challenges were encountered and are the topic of discussion.
