The effect of FA on solar photodegradation of metoprolol was studied. Fulvic acids isolated from river water are phosensitizers of metropolol degradation. Kinetic studies showed the evolution of degradation products along irradiation time. Sixteen degradation products were tentatively identified by HPLC–MSn. Mass fragmentation profiles were established for the drug and degradation products.
