Reported polymorphism at 781A > G of Growth Hormone (GH) gene was screened in goats using restriction enzyme. A mismatch at 90th position of exon 2 (781A > G) resulted in three genotypes AA, AB and BB on digestion with HaeIII enzyme. Frequency for genotype AB was high for all goat populations, indicating its selective advantage. The BB genotype with a frequency of 0.02 appeared to be a rare genotype, which was not reported in other similar studies with GH gene in goats.
