We tested thought interferences in the attention network test (ANT). Individuals were predominantly involved in task related interference thoughts. Task related interference and external distractors impaired performance accuracy. Mind wandering thoughts did not interfere with performance accuracy. No significant relationship between type of thoughts and attention network effects.
