The reaction time of the process is reduced to 5 h at pressure environment.

Optimum conditions are 140 °C, methanol:oil ratio of 6 and 6% of catalyst percent.

The catalyst crumbles at temperatures and pressures higher than 160 °C and 15 bar.

The kinetic mechanism is the same as the one used at atmospherical pressure.
