Flow patterns and mixing characteristics of horizontal buoyant jets at low and moderate Reynolds numbers
文摘

Flow pattern and stability of horizontal buoyant jets at low and moderate Re studied.

Three flow patterns with unstable small-scale structures identified in the Re–Fr space.

Substantive bifurcation previously reported not observed within the presumptive space.

Concentration decay/spreading rates do not increase/decrease steadily in wider Re range.

Our findings reconcile the contradictory Re-dependence in mixing previously reported.
