Application of an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in the GIS interface for suitable fire site selection: A case study from Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal
This paper documents fire station suitability zonation mapping in Kathmandu Metropolitan City using AHP in GIS interface.

4 selection criteria factors i.e. land cover, population density, distance from roads & rivers are considered for analysis.
•
The results show that only 13.46% of the study area is highly suitable for fire station location.
•
The fire station suitability zonation map can be used for setting up new fire stations in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
