•: We predict NaBC crystallize in the layered P6₃/mmc $P 6_{3} / m m c$ crystal structure as LiBC.
•: We show Na_1−xBC is more similar to MgB₂ than Li_1−xBC.
•: The obtained λ $λ$ is about 0.75 for NaB_1.1C_0.9, and T_C $T_{C}$ is as high as 35 K.
