CeO2/allicin nanocomposite was impregnated into woven and non-woven fabrics using simple method. Incorporation of allicin into CeO2 was confirmed by UV–Visible spectroscopy and FTIR. CeO2/allicin nanocomposite impregnated fabric shows remarkable antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus pathogens. Addition of allicin to cerium oxide, an excellent antioxidant material imparts antibacterial activity to it. Nanocomposite impregnated fabrics showed good laundering durability and also in holding nanocomposite for a very long time.
