Manure was responsible for most of the dairy farm GHG footprint. GHG emissions associated with dairy production can be greatly reduced with manure composting. The carbon footprint of milk is around 36% less when manure composter-separator technology is employed. Direct GHG emissions from manure on a dairy farm were reduced by 50% with the composter system.
