Following the 2009 influenza pandemic and 2010 adverse events in young children with bioCSL influenza vaccine, uptake of influenza vaccination in young children decreased significantly.

From 2010, parents were less concerned about influenza infection and more concerned about vaccine safety and efficacy.

Acceptance of vaccines on the national immunisation program did not change during the period of the study.
